The Miscellaneous Setups window groups a number of setup tools together under a single option. Not all of these items will need to be changed from the defaults.
Referral Types
Referral Types are used for reporting and gathering information about referrals INTO the practice.These referral types represent the broad categories of referrals, while specific referral sources are tracked elsewhere in the record.For example, the Referral Type is Billboard, and the Referred By is “Corner of 5th and Main". Referral Type appears in the patient record and can be seen in the Patient Overview screen. Some sample referral types are already included; they can be added to, edited or deleted.

To add a referral type:

Select Referral Type in the Misc Setups window.
Click the Edit button. In the bottom section, type a code in the Type Code field. This field is used for data storage.
Type the description in the Description field.
Click the Add button.
Click the Save button when complete.
