Diagnosis Code Setup
If a practice wishes to enter and bill medical or dental procedures in QSIDental Web with ICD diagnosis codes, some setup is required. This setup stretches across many areas of QSIDental Web and includes:
- Add an ICD Code: Enter the specific ICD diagnosis codes that may be applied to procedures at the practice.
- Procedure to ICD Cross Coding: Identify the diagnosis codes that support specific procedure codes.
- Add a Procedure Code: Require dental procedure codes to carry a diagnosis if desired.
- Update Medical Carriers: A new field for Medical Carriers indicates their readiness to receive ICD-10 codes and controls which ICD codes populate in the claims.
- Insurance Carriers Setup: A new field for Dental Carriers indicates their readiness to receive ICD-10 codes and controls which ICD codes populate in the claims.
QSIDental recommends that both ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes are entered on applicable charges so claims can be submitted or resubmitted with either type until all carriers are fully compliant with ICD-10.
