The following is a summary of the new features and enhancements in QSIDental Web 3.7.0.0.

Link a new patient to an existing responsible party

You can link new patients directly to an existing responsible party using the new Patient Referral window when accepting patient referrals.
  • The windows for matching patients and the responsible party opens only if there are matching patient records for the first name, last name, date of birth, or any two of the criteria.
  • You can still create a new patient responsible party for a patient or link to an existing one.

Reassign an individual referral

You can reassign a In-Progress referral to a different provider using the Assign Referral to other Provider link. The Assign Referral To Other Provider link is available on the Referred to window that opens in the Referral Overview window, and the Patient Referral (Details) window.

Audit Trail Report for patient referral audits

  • You can generate an audit trail report for various types of patient referral changes for a given time period.
  • The Patient Referrals module type has been added to the Module list.
  • The audit message is generated only for a limited number of actions that were updated or added in the 3.6.0.0 and 3.7.0.0 releases.

Change the status of a Closed referral to In-Progress

You can change the status of a Closed referral to In Progress. The referral is set to Accepted instead of Closed if it has no linked appointments or transactions. The system determines the correct status between Accepted and In Progress as the user only has an option of selecting In Progress status.

Character count for comments in patient referrals

You can view the remaining character count on editing the Comments & Notes on the Referral Report window, and the Doctor Comments section on the Patient Referral window. You are not allowed to enter more characters than you can save.

Link or Delink patient referrals

  • The Patient Referral window for linking or delinking referrals displays more information and has a better work flow.
  • Click the button next to the Referred To provider to open the Patient Referral window.
  • This linking or delinking is done from appointments, treatment plans, tooth chart transactions, and ledger.

Referral reports

  • You can save the changes made to a referral report by clicking Generate Report if you have the Patient Report - Generate Report Button security right. This enables you to view and save the changes in the report without finalizing or closing the referral
  • The patient referral reports in the Referral reports section have been renamed for more clarity.
    • Initial Report - Generated when a referral is created or is refreshed by being edited in its new state.
    • Progress Report - Generated using the Generate Report option.
    • Final Report - Generated when the referral is finalized using the Finalize option.

Update incoming external referrals

  • You can edit and delete incoming external referrals similar to what is allowed for transfer of care and other types of incoming referrals.
  • The incoming external referral should have a New status.
  • Administrative rights are required to edit or delete an incoming external referral.

Medical Alerts for new patients

The recent medical alerts associated with a patient are included by default when you create a new patient referral.

Access from Patient Overview

  • The previously saved patient referral overview filters are retained when you navigate from the Patient Referral window to the Patient Overview window.
  • The saved filters are retained when you exit and re-enter the Patient Overview window.
