Most completed treatments require additional information to be included in the chart in the form of notes. While notes could be added manually each time a completed treatment is added, QSIDental Web offers SmartNotes. A SmartNote is an interactive, pre-written note associated with a particular treatment that is completed with pre-defined multiple choices. Rather than composing the note over and over again, only the defined variables need to be selected to create consistent, comprehensive notes.
There are two parts to the SmartNote window. The left side lists the
variable fields that must be completed and the predefined choices for each. The right side
shows the note text as it is being created based on the field selections.
Complete a SmartNote
SmartNotes are setup by the QSIDental Web administrator to represent the most common options available in the practice. Once the notes are set up, they are easy to complete following an exam or procedure.
To complete a SmartNote:
Select the response for the first prompt by clicking the appropriate choice from the list.
Once a response is selected, the prompt will automatically advance.
Select the response for the next prompt by clicking the appropriate choice from the list.
Once a response is selected, the prompt will automatically advance.
Select the response for each successive prompt by clicking the appropriate choice from the list.
To select multiple responses, click the
Multiple
button and then the desired responses. Click
Accept Field
when all selections have been made.
Once a response is selected, the prompt will automatically advance.
Continue to select responses for each prompt until all prompts are complete. Starred
prompts require a response.
Include any additional text if desired.
Click Edit.
Type the text as appropriate.
Click Save.
The completed note appears in the chart details section.
