Introduction to Patient Records

It is obvious to say that working with patients is an important part of a dental practice. However, it can be easy to get caught up in other tasks and forget the importance of building relationships with the people who are your patients, especially during frantic end-of-month moments.

QSIDental Web offers a variety of tools for managing many aspects of patient relationships and patient records. From the comprehensive Patient Overview page to its many detailed sub pages, everything a practice needs is readily available.

The structure of patient records in QSIDental Web may differ from the structure of patient records in other dental software. QSIDental Web distinguishes a patient, a responsible party, and a subscriber. Separate records of each are maintained, even if the individual is the same.

  • Patient: Person who receives dental care from a provider in the practice.
  • Responsible Party: Person who is accountable for financial decisions and payments. This person also serves to link multiple patients, such as a family. The underlying patients are referred to as members.
  • Subscriber: The person responsible for payment of premiums or whose employment is the basis for eligibility for membership in the plan. The subscriber may enroll eligible dependents within the plan. Please note that the subscriber is not necessarily the responsible party.
