The Medical Insurance Carrier Setup window allows a practice to set up and manage a database of medical carriers. These carriers will appear in the dropdown list of carriers when a user is creating a medical insurance plan.
Note: You can also add medical carriers when you are creating an insurance plan, as explained in Insurance Plan Setup.
To edit, delete or add new carriers, launch the Medical Insurance Carrier setup window by selecting Medical Carriers from the Insurance section of the Setup menu.
The current list of medical carriers is displayed on the left side of the window and information about the selected carrier is shown on the right.
The Payer ID is a critical fact used when filing claims. Locate this information in the Carrier Payer ID List under the Help menu. To be visible in the dropdown options, Reason Code Set and ERA Profile must be established first.
