Internet Explorer Settings

Determining Internet Explorer Version

To determine your version of Internet Explorer:

1. Launch an Internet Explorer browser window.
2. From the Help menu select About.
3. Confirm the version.

OR

1. Click the tools icon (gear).
2. Select About Internet Explorer.
3. Confirm the version.

Temporary Internet Files

Set the preferences to check for newer versions of stored pages automatically. 

To check for new pages:

1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu (gear icon).
2. Under the Browsing History section of the General tab, click the Settings button.
3. In the Check for newer versions of stored pages, click the radio button beside Automatically.
4. Click the OK button.
5. Click the Apply or OK button.

ActiveX Filtering

ActiveX Filtering should be disabled. 

To disable ActiveX Filtering:

1. Select Safety from the Tools menu (gear icon).
2. Ensure there is no check mark beside ActiveX Filtering. If there is a check mark, click ActiveX Filtering to toggle off the feature.

Trusted Site

QSIDental Web should be added as a trusted site. 

To add trusted sites:

1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu (gear icon).
2. Select Trusted Sites under the Security tab.
3. Click the Sites button.
4. Type the following sites, clicking the Add button after each.
   • http://*.qsidentalweb.com
   • https://*.qsidentalweb.com
   • http://qsii.webex.com
5. Uncheck the checkbox beside Require server verification.
6. Click the Close button.
7. Click the Apply or OK button.

Security Level for Trusted Sites

You should set the security level as Medium High (or lower) with Protected Mode disabled. 

To set the security level:

1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu (gear icon).
2. Select Trusted Sites under the Security tab.
3. Drag the Security level bar until the description reads Medium-High, Medium or Medium-Low.
4. Uncheck the checkbox beside Enable Protected Mode if checked.
5. Click the Apply or OK button.

Popup Blocker

Popup Blocker should be turned off for QSIDental Web. 

To turn off the popup blocker:

1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu (gear icon).
2. Select the Privacy tab.
3. Check the checkbox beside Turn on Pop-up Blocker.
4. Click the Settings button.
5. Type the following sites, clicking the Add button after each.
   • http://*.qsidentalweb.com
   • https://*.qsidentalweb.com
   • http://qsii.webex.com
6. Click the Close button.
7. Click the Apply or OK button.

Save Encrypted Pages

Enable the ability to save encrypted pages to disk. 

To turn on the pages:

1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu (gear icon).
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Scroll to the Security section.
4. Uncheck the checkbox beside Do not save encrypted pages to disk.
5. Click the Apply or OK button.
