About the Scheduler
The Scheduler is a flexible tool that allows you to schedule and manage appointments while offering many options and views so that each person can work with the schedule in the manner that best meets his or her needs. In its default view, the Scheduler is divided into columns, each representing a provider’s availability to provide treatment. The columns displayed depend on the operatory and provider setup and the selected view.
There are three types of items that may be added to the Scheduler:
- New Appointment: A reserved time slot for a specific patient to be seen by the designated provider. The colors of the appointments are determined either by provider or by procedure depending on the selection of the Prod. View checkbox. See Creating Appointments for more information.
- Production Time: Semi-transparent background blocks allow an office or provider to designate, or template, a certain time of day for specific procedures. The template serves as a guide in scheduling but does not limit the time slot to only those procedures. Production types and colors are established during system setup.
- Block Time: A time slot during which the provider is unavailable for appointments. See Block Time for details.
