Request Claim Status

If a payer supports e-claims and has the Claim Status Check function enabled, you can submit a request for claim status from the Claim History window after a claim has been sent.

To request claim status:

  1. From the ledger, open a claim by clicking its claim date.

    The claim displays.

  2. Click Claim History.

    The Claim History window displays.

  3. Click Send Status Request.

    An entry is added to the claim history to indicate a claim status request was sent (type 276), and an entry is added below that one to indicate the claim status was received from NextGen EDI (type 277).

  4. Click the claim-status entry in the claim history to view the status details in the Message field.
